Representative Frost is Vice Chair of the House Committee on Public Safety and serves on the House Committee on Natural Resources. His House colleagues named him Vice Chair of the Texas Rural Caucus.
Representative Frost worked on and successfully passed bills protecting homeowners from excessive appraisals and children from drunk drivers. The Representative authored and passed the bill creating Cass County’s much-needed County Court-at-Law. He worked with fellow legislators to ensure funding for Texas A&M – Texarkana’s new campus construction. Rep. Frost co-authored the bill creating the Texas Rural Entrepreneurship Network which promotes small town economic investments.
A sixth generation Northeast Texas native, Stephen is proud to continue his family’s commitment to public service. His dad, George Frost, recently retired from Maud High School after more than 2 decades of service. His mother, Monica Frost, continues to teach at Maud Elementary.
Stephen earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock in 1997, and formed the law firm of Thompson & Frost in Atlanta
Stephen is active in his church and in community organizations, having served as President of the Atlanta Area Rotary Club and the Cass County Bar Association. Knowing the importance of education, Representative Frost has spent time as a volunteer reading instructor with at-risk children.
