David Farabee

David FarabeeDavid Farabee is serves on the House Committee on Energy Resources and is a member of the State Affairs Committee.

Serving in his fourth term, Representative Farabee has championed legislation relating to mental health and children’s health issues. He has also sought to provide tax credits for businesses who supply health insurance for their employees and to ease governmental regulations on energy producers who maintain efficient and safe records of service. In 2004, his work on behalf of local county governments earned him “Legislator of the Year” honors from the Texas County Judges and Commissioner’s Association.

Following the example set by his parents, Former State Senator Ray Farabee and the late Helen Farabee, Representative Farabee entered public service at an early age. He served as a two-term Wichita Falls City Council Member and has been a volunteer leader on several local boards. As an independent insurance agent and Vice-President and Partner of the Financial Corporation of Boley-Featherston Insurance Agency, Representative Farabee knows the importance of economic development in a community and continues to strive for ways to expand and improve Texas’ economy.

He and his wife, Terri, a registered nurse, have three children who all attend Wichita Falls public schools.
