Chuck Hopson

Chuck Hopson serves on the Appropriations Committee and is Chairman of Budget & Oversight for the Judiciary Committee. He is also a member of the House Committee on Redistricting.

While serving on the House Appropriation Subcommittee on Health & Human Services, Representative Hopson helped craft a balanced budget that invests in the health of our children and our seniors. He is a respected voice in the fight for an efficient state government, a responsible budget, and economic development initiatives that will benefit all Texans.

Representative Hopson represents District 11 in East Texas. A native of Jacksonville, he owns and operates May Drug, an independent pharmacy in his hometown.

He is an active member of the Texas Pharmacy Association and is past president of the Texas Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the Central East Texas Pharmacy Association. Prior to his election to the Texas House, Hopson served on both the Jacksonville City Council and School Board. He also acted as director of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and Nan Travis Hospital Association. He currently serves as a trustee of Lon Morris College.

Representative Hopson and his wife, Billie, a former school teacher and counselor, have three children and six grandchildren.
