The Independent Minority

The members of Texas 20/20 together represent 21 counties. They have spent a combined 86 years in the Texas Legislature and hold seats on 17 of the 35 House Committees, 4 of which are Chairmanships.

An independent voting bloc, the members of Texas 20/20 are regarded as the House’s voice of moderation and as the ballast on most contentious issues. They are commonly looked to when the Legislature is in search of a common ground.
