Homer Launches Full Flight of Positive TV Spots

October 9th, 2008

State Representative Mark Homer today launched a full flight of positive television ads throughout the region, reminding voters that the election next month is a unique opportunity to take a positive step forward by putting East Texas values first and Austin politics last.

“We already have plenty of politicians in Austin,” a narrator says in the spot. “Let’s make sure we send back at leader one leader.”

Entitled “Good Guy” and produced by Homer’s media team, the spot is narrated over shots of Homer visiting with East Texas families, small business owners, workers on job sites, and students in classrooms.

While the politicians in Austin are fighting among themselves,
East Texas is fortunate to have State Representative Mark Homer fighting for us.

He’s working to cut insurance costs,
make college more affordable,
and lower our taxes.

From our families and our jobs
to our property and our kids’ future,
Mark Homer is getting the job done.

We already have plenty of politicians in Austin.
let’s make sure we send back at least one leader.,

Mark Homer for East Texas.
Good guy, great values.

The positive spot ends with Homer and his family — wife Jennifer and their three children — riding horses. The spot is running throughout the district and is scheduled to stay up through Election Day on November 4.

Last year, Homer proposed a comprehensive insurance reform agenda to lower costs and improve coverage for Texas homeowners who pay more than twice the national average to insure their property. He is also calling for measure to make college tuition more affordable for middle-class families who earn too much to qualify for needs-based scholarships but not enough to pay for their children’s higher education without taking out expensive loans.

Homer is director of the Texas Legislative Sportsman Caucus and the Texas Conservative Coalition, and is a member of the Rural Caucus, Texas Legislative Tourism Caucus, and Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute.

An active member of his hometown community, Homer was raised in Paris and graduated from Paris High School. He earned his degree in animal science from Texas A&M University and owns a number of low-cost family restaurants in the region. He and his family live in Paris.
